Thank you, weaselmom. Tomorrow, oh tomorrow I get to take out and play with my present, which is a Kitchen Aid mixer. It's *red* -- squee! And it has all sorts of toys packed in with it!
Torn three ways -- Swedish Wedding Cookies for the person who gave it to me? Chocolate chip cookies for home? Or bread? that was one of the reasons I have coveted one -- the bread hook. And I can make really edible bread -- I used to do it when I was in my 20's.
They all three sound so good! You'll have to pace yourself, I guess! The bread was the first thing I thought of, precisely because of the bread hook! What a thoughtful gift just in time for the holidays!
Yes, and the instruction book comes with recipes for wheat bread, rolls, and other wicked items -- though of course I have classic cookbooks with recipes that are easily 100 years old, and full of tasty things to cook. That is where the Swedish Wedding Cookie recipe resides -- I was already making them 50 years ago, myself. I read through the directions -- I like to internalize them so that when I use a machine, I do it without fumbling for what I need to do next.
