Son of Thoughtlettes

weaselmomStill feeling mentally sluggish, so here are some more random thoughtlettes.
I don't watch TV but now I'm irrevocably hooked on American Idol. S flipped on the TV for a few minutes between DVDs and there it was, Star Search for the new millennium in all its horrifying glory. We watched the whole show and now I'll be glued to the tube every Tuesday night for the foreseeable future. I have to keep telling myself, it's only a show, it's only a show. Which three will go on to compete? I can't stand the suspense. If Justin is one of them, he's going to have to lose the fruity hair.
My monitor imploded last night. I've never seen a monitor die before, and this one went spectacularly. For a moment I thought the thing was possessed and I would have to call a priest. We got it from a friend some eight years ago, and it was old then, a weird German-made monitor. Now S says he will buy himself a big, new, flat screen and I'll inherit his lovely big Nokia. However, this is $400-$500 we weren't planning on spending at the moment.
I got Monkeyboy as far as the American Airlines terminal door. Once he crossed that threshold, he was no longer my responsibility. Maybe we should have hung a tag around his neck saying, "Please look after this Monkeyboy. Thank you." I haven't heard that he arrived, but I haven't heard that he didn't arrive either.
The new Vanilla Coke is okay, but not great. Frankly, it tastes like regular Coke gone all warm.
