I'm glad this says "eight of your favorite songs" and not "your eight favorite songs" because I could never narrow it down that far, although the first three would appear there as well. And there are bands that I love to flinders who don't appear on this list at all--Numan, anyone? All of these songs had a profound impact on how I listen to music--I listen to every single note to the exclusion of anything else, really listen, not just treat it as the usual background noise. While I'm listening to them, if you disturb me, you had better be on fire. Who knows what it is that makes some songs resonate so strongly for us?

Here are eight names whose musical favorites would interest me, but please don't feel under any obligation! It's supposed to be an amusing diversion, not a career path.

Cool list. What happened to all that rap or whatever it is you listen to now? Curious about that, too.

I still listen to it, but only on the radio (which is totally expurgated, so what's the point?). I just can't reconcile myself to the levels of ridicule I would face as a beefy, middle-aged white woman buying Fifty Cent CDs.

Sometimes I wonder why I do these memes, because hardly anybody knows who any of these bands are, so they have no reference point. I get sort of a, "::blink:: uhhhh, okay."

Today I feel dragged down by all the crap that's going on. It's only 10:30 and I'm itching to smack somebody with a boat oar. On the plus side, I got to play with the girls this morning before work, which is always uplifting (even if Fiona is an inveterate toe-biter).
