And so we start Season 3 of American Idol for real. Eight very strong performers, all of them either very good-looking or at least interesting-looking. Surely nobody was surprised that Diane and Fantasia advanced to the next round. But you know what? I would have liked to see Marque, Erskine, Jennifer, and Matthew remain in the competition. Next week we get another eight people who don't seem to have the talent or looks of the first batch. I think they stacked the first group to the detriment of the contestants and the show as a whole.

I am not hooked on America's Next Top Model. Not not not. That being said, can you believe that they didn't boot that snot Camille? And what is up with the weird "Fear Factor"-style photo shoots? "Submerge yourself completely in this tank of water and try not to look like you're afraid of drowning." Next week: "Let these tarantulas crawl all over your naked body and try to remember that spiders are our friends!"

And so to bed.

Well I am much relieved that your AI posts have appeared at last. I have to say I did not like Fantasia's voice when I first heard it, but what do I know. I suspect we will be seeing at least two other from this group in the finals.
