I'll never be sad again.
Jan. 22nd, 2003 12:09 amBecause we were out this evening, S videotaped the season premiere of American Idol with the first round of auditions. For the rest of my life, if I'm feeling down in the dumps, I will pop in that tape and laugh until my cheeks cramp. And there's another show on Wednesday! If it's as funny as tonight's episode, I'm going to need Depends for sure.
For one of my book clubs next month, we're doing Barry Hughart's Bridge of Birds. I am thrilled to have found the omnibus edition of all three novels at the University Bookstore. Life is sweet. I just wish that I could read it for the first time all over again.
One good thing about the TJTAMB is that I'm guaranteed two hours of reading time per day (two half-hour commutes and a lunch hour). I think I might start posting a "books read" list to give myself the illusion of accomplishment.
S is playing a new MMORPG called "Earth and Beyond." Essentially he flies around space on missions and gets in dogfights and trades things for other things. On the screen has just appeared the message, "The Galaxy will be coming down at 1 a.m. PDT for an update." Huh. Who knew? Guess I'd better brush my teeth and stuff now before the galaxy goes offline.

I beta tested Earth and Beyond
Date: 2003-01-22 08:11 am (UTC)I think because...well, it's a nifty idea, but I'm jaded with EverQuest, and it's 3 years old and correspondingly more DENSE.
E&B is new, brand-spanking new, and quite sparse. If beautiful.
Meh. I hope S finds more to do with it than I did; maybe I'll return to it.
WHEN I HAVE MONEY.
In other news, I just read on the Dance Place's message board that the DJs are having an anniversary THING tomorrow night; I might indeed try to make it up there after work, if at least one of my other hangout people is there.
I don't think PMB will be, after her wail about overtime...will you and S be?
