weaselmomSometimes, when all my motivation has dribbled away into the cracks between the sofa cushions, I randomize and surf other people's LJs. Usually it comes up with LJs of 8th graders who spell like Prince ("u r 2 funny") and occasionally I hit an LJ entirely in Cyrillic. mishak fellow. He's from Boston, is gothish, loves Death In June, and is friends with somebody who used to post on the Ferret Mailing List (I remember her tales of Cully and Amelia). He has the social life I crave and writes like I want to. Insight re: playing D&D as a more-or-less grownup: "Now it's more about getting together with friends, cracking jokes and making wise-ass comments about the absurdity of various versions of AD&D rules and roleplaying in general. It's like we're playing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Mystery Science Theatre 3000 Edition."
Can you imagine anything more pathetic than writing to somebody and saying, "I think you sound like a really cool person, somebody I wish I knew. Can I come to Boston and hang with you?"

You know, Shechemist (PMB's friend Sherry) has a paid account, which allows her a certain number of account codes to give to friends. Maybe if you are extra and especially nice to her, she'll give you a code and you can start posting! That would truly be the death of ambition, since you have two full-time jobs and numerous time-consuming hobbies.
It's been wonderful having K out here. I can hardly wait until you both come back in January.
