So our email is down at work, and I am consumed with an overpowering need to send emails. And I can't. All I can think about is emailing people. "Hey! I should drop So-and-so a line... OOPS!" Or "Hey! I owe that guy a reply." But NO. Honestly, I don't know what to do. HelpDesk says to go take a break, have a cookie. (They know me pretty well down there.) I'm going to go wander the halls disconsolately and talk to people that I could have emailed IF ONLY. My co-workers and I have switched to our BlackBerries and those emails aren't getting through either. That's just cruel.

What is it about human nature that, as soon as we cannot do something, we are absolutely afire to do that one thing?

So I'm reduced to communicating with the outside world via LJ or by phone, but I don't like to talk on the phone.

Hello?

Hello?

I KNOW! My tragic First World problems! It just came back up. But it's surprising the number of things that come to a halt in our place when email is down!

Our email has been down, and our phones have been down, but never at the same time, thank goodness. Life As We Know It here would cease to exist.

And it's not like I didn't have several hours of work I could do perfectly well in that isolation chamber. Just me and Excel. It's just that as soon as I couldn't email, it was all I wanted to do.

People are silly monkeys.

Hey HI!!! I totally recognize your username, and even if you change it, I'm going to recognize Miss Narnia! :) I do love industrial and dark ambient, but I find mostly I listen to really old skool stuff like Skinny Puppy and Neubauten and Front Line Assembly and Lustmord - all the stuff that came out in the late 80s and early 90s. I haven't yet heard Stahlmantel but that's so cool that your partner is the founder - you guys must be really into the German industrial scene! I wish my Pandora station played a better variety of stuff, because there is surely a lot that I'm missing, and I'm too old to go clubbing (although I did hear SITD and really liked their earlier sound).

It's nice to "meet" you!
