It's better to laugh than to cry.

I try to avoid posting links to flash-in-the-pan humor sites that practically everyone has seen, but this spoof of ambiguous emergency signage made me laugh three times today, so I figured it was worth it. Pretty much work-safe.

Okay, now I am well and truly pissed.

Tonight is the American Idol results show (every Wednesday another contestant gets the boot). Fox/KCPQ13 is showing the same bullshit "war coverage" that most of the other network stations are showing (except for good old 9 and 11). There is no news to report. Nothing newsworthy is happening that KCPQ can't continue its regularly scheduled programming. This may come as a shock to all the dumbasselopes running the TV station, but not everybody wants to sit glued to the tube watching the same nothing bullshit. Some of us want a diversion. American Idol is important to me, in my own weird little way, and I am livid that it is being pre-empted.

Oops.

Well, about five minutes after I posted my rant, S told me that FOX would begin showing American Idol at 8:15. My bad.

Tonight's result was so close and yet so far. Julie (her name is actually Julia, but who cares?) was once again in the bottom three, along with Corey and sweet but outclassed Charles. I'm glad that Simon did not hold back and honestly said how abysmally bad Corey's performance was, especially after he watched it on the TV. Paula was genuinely stricken that Charles was eliminated from tonight's show. I predict we'll see Julie in the bottom three again next week.
